LasikPlus Diagnostic Equipment
In addition to conventional eye examination equipment, LasikPlus Vision Centers also have diagnostic technologies tailored to the information needed for a successful LASIK surgery.
The Marco Epic Refractive System provides us with an accurate reading of your refractive error, allowing us to determine what treatment type is best for you. This scan is both quick and accurate.
Every LasikPlus Vision Center utilizes a Bausch & Lomb Orbscan system to provide information about the shape and thickness of the cornea. A three-dimensional map of the eye’s contours show any irregularities on the front or back of the eye’s surface and allow our doctors to make a recommendation tailored to your unique eyes.
Finally, our Vision Centers use the Wavescan WaveFront system from AMO (Advanced Medical Optics). This scanner is used to detect even small distortions in the eye — called higher-order aberrations — by beaming a low-powered laser into the eye and mapping the shape of the reflected wavefront of light. This digital map of your eyes helps determine your Customized Treatment Plan and can even be communicated directly to the laser used to reshape your cornea for an entirely customized procedure.
